Native Union Clean Screen Spray: First Impressions

So I have always liked Native Union accessories, they are practical and stylish, but I have always been put off by the hefty price tag. But the other week I was browsing some online sales when I saw the Native Union Clean Screen Spray pop up in my recommended products. I immediately loved the idea as I had been putting together a tech pouch, and just bought the Native Union Stow Lite Organiser.

Despite how important it is, I am terrible at remembering to clean my screens. And when I do remember I have nothing to clean them with. I usually try and carry some single-use screen wipes but for anything larger than a phone you usually need a couple at least.

So when it arrived in the post I was glad to admit that for a cleaner, it actually looked kinda stylish. It’s a simple spray in a plastic credit card-shaped bottle, that slides into a microfibre sleeve that you use to wipe and dry the screen.

Most cleaning products look like exactly what they are, cleaning products. But when the spray is in its microfibre case it doesn’t look nearly as out of place in your bag as most cleaning products would. If somebody had a nose through and found this it wouldn’t raise any questions.

Usage

Using this has been great, it’s a lot more convenient than the wipes I’ve used before. It’s unclear in the product description whether the spray removes germs from your screen or just cleans it. On the website, it says the word sanitise once but doesn’t mention it at any other time or in its main features. With the amount of usage my phone gets and the fact it comes with me absolutely everywhere, that would have been a feature I loved.

I’m also not happy about the fact it’s a one-time-use product. This product could be improved more if Native Union made it refillable and sold refill packs. It’s better for the environment and expands the lifetime of the product exponentially.

Native Union Clean Screen Spray: Final Thoughts

The Native Union Clean Screen Spray has definitely earned its place in my tech pouch. It’s a great piece of everyday carry gear and takes up next to no weight and space. Although there is room for improvement and hopefully Native Union will continue to develop this product in the future, for now, its earned its place.

It’s a handy bit of kit that although compact makes every last millimetre. It’s handy to have in the bottom of your bag or tech kit. I’ve changed tech kits a few times since, and it still sits in the bottom of my latest, the Stow Organiser.
