I’m Brad
I’m Brad, born and raised in the lush and exotic land, known only as Essex. There are a lot of fun and exciting things to do in Essex, although my personal favourite is to visit the airport and fly.
I didn’t start exploring the world until 2016 when I took my first solo trip. Whilst I had been abroad before, I’d never had the freedom you can only experience with solo travel, allowing me to explore the destinations I had only dreamed of. There have been many, many more jaunts since that first trip, from the beaches of Australia, to the waterfalls of Iceland. With a whole world out there to explore, I have no plans of stopping anytime soon.

Travel without limits
For me travel should be without limits, and that’s what I am to offer in my guides. You will find experiences for all budgets, from free hidden gems to once in a lifetime luxury moments. Life should be about creating memories and collecting stories, a luxury solo travel has given me in abundance. This was never something I expected myself to be doing – in fact, it was accidentally thrust upon me.
Going solo
Back in 2016, I was asked if I wanted to join a charity hike to Machu Picchu in Peru. It was my dream destination – having grown up on the Indiana Jones films, I always wanted to be an adventurer. I thought hiking across the treacherous terrain to the Incan ruins would immediately put me in running for a part for the next instalment. So imagine my disappointment when I arrived at the sungate, covered in four days worth of sweat, insect repellant and dirt, only to realise I could have gotten a bus.

Through the lens
Through travel, I have discovered a love of photography, to the point now that I rarely leave the house without my camera. As a rookie, I started out simply using my smartphone for photography; I travelled across Australia with a GoPro and a Samsung phone. Over the years as my skills have developed, my kit has grown alongside it. Nowadays I mostly use my Sony Mirrorless and have more action cameras than I can carry.
Favourite memories?
It’s hard to say what my favourite country is – everywhere I have been has its own unique charm. However I would say Italy is a high contender: beautiful weather; amazing scenery; and, of course, pizza. Although Iceland and Australia are very close contenders for their abundance of natural beauty. Offer me the chance to visit either of their waterfalls again and I’ll be packed in a heartbeat.

Bucket List?
My bucket list is growing faster than I can tick it off, although I do have my top three. Embarking on an African Safari and seeing some of my favourite animals in their natural habitat is a dream. Secondly, going on a cruise to the Antarctic and zipping between icebergs on a zodiac is also pretty high for me. Finally, I’d love to go on a road trip across Italy in a fashionable italian car, sampling all of the regional culinary delights, fresh wines and limoncello and picniccing by its lakes.
