Wentworth Goods Battery Case Review

Wentworth Goods Co Battery Case

Wentworth Goods came to my attention at the Photography and Video Show 2025. I passed their stand and stopped by to check out what they had for sale. They specialised in waxed cotton camera gear. So I initially picked up the Wentworth Goods Battery Case, and they gave me a filter pouch. But I later returned to buy their larger filter case.

First Impressions of the Wentworth Goods Battery Case

Battery Storing Wentworth Goods Battery Case can fit three batteries at a time. I am using Sony FZ100 batteries, more than enough for most, if not all, photographers. I only have three batteries anyway, and one will always be in my camera. But for the sake of testing, I removed the camera battery to see how the case feels when filled. All three fit with ease; it was designed for slightly larger Canon batteries. So there’s enough room for the batteries to feel snug but still easy to remove. It does this by having enough depth to ever so slightly squeeze on the batteries, making sure they stay in place.

Materials

The case itself is made from waxed cotton. It feels tough but durable. I like my camera gear to not look like camera gear. The battery case I had previously was the K&F Concept Battery and SD Card Case. It was also durable but looked industrial, it was very clear it would be holding camera gear. The waxed cotton is a lot sleeker and blends into my outfits. The material inside is still soft and flexible, which makes it a lot easier to pull out SD cards and batteries.

Wentworth Goods Battery Case for SD Card Storage

In the lid of the Case is a small area of elasticated netting. This is great for holding small items like SD cards. I can fit four in at a time, and the elastic is pinned in the middle splitting the netting in two. This helps keep it taught and things from slipping free.

I did have a bit of concern about magnets being so close to memory cards. I was always taught that magnets can wipe or damage memory storage. But flash drives such as an SD card don’t use magnetic fields to store data, so they are completely fine. Having them on my hip felt nice and secure; there is no way this case will be snatched off me in the street, which si something I have concerns about with ones using a carabiner.

Belt Loops

As well as being small enough to throw into your bag, the Wentworth Goods Battery Case has two loops to fit on your belt too. I’ve found this really helpful on days I want to shoot with minimal kit. I can just leave the house with my camera and a smallish lens, pop this on my belt and I have enough batteries and SD cards to last me the entire day.

It was a tad tight getting the loops on as I have a wide belt. When it was in place,  I found it to be a surprisingly comfy fit. I thought it would be a bit stiff and rigid, but it does have some flexibility to conform to my waist. When it was on my waist, everything was really easy to access; it made switching batteries and SD cards a lot easier.

Aesthetics

Currently, the case is available in two colours, black and brown. I went for the brown as I thought it matched my style more. If you’re worried about style, waxed cotton is hard to pair wrong with anything. They are very earthy tones, which makes them quite discreet too if you decide to wear them on your belt. I usually wear a brown leather belt which would go with either colour, but my brown case looks like it’s made for it.

Value for Money

The Battery Case is currently on sale for £15 on their website, so I think it’s great value for money. If you are a photographer who uses a lot of filters, you can even get the full hide collection in a bundle for £30. This includes the Filter Pouch and Filter Case, along with the Battery Case.

Hide Collection

The Battery case is just one item in the Hide collection. It also includes a filter pouch and a filter case, which I’ll be reviewing separately. The filter pouch is great for throwing in a bag if it’s a singular filter, whereas the case is designed for multiple. Personally I can see myself getting a lot more usage out of the case than the pouch, but we shall see in time. If you just want the battery case, you can buy any of these individually.

Wentworth Goods Battery Case: Final Thoughts

The Wentworth Goods Battery Case makes a great little battery case. SD cards and batteries are somne of the first accessories a photographer should buy, so having something to keep them close and together is sensible. This would be perfect as a gift to a photographer friend or to yourself. It fits nicely on the belt. You can pair it with one of their filter cases and have a matching set.
