My visit to Portugal was a short one, with my and my friends needing a break before the Christmas rush. We jetted off for a long weekend to Lisbon. With an early flight on a Friday morning, we would have a few days to explore before returning Sunday night. I had learnt from my trip to Bucharest and didn’t book a crazy late flight home. Although I couldn’t avoid the 3am dash to the airport for the outgoing flight.
Lisbon Travel Guides
Despite delays with Ryanair seemingly intent on starting our trip on the wrong foot, we arrived in Lisbon in beautiful weather. Whilst friends and family are shivering at home in the first snowfall of the winter, we were taking off our jumpers because of the heat. It wasn’t blistering hot but comfortable with a T-shirt and jeans in the day, and a light jacket in the evening.
Of course you cannot visit Lisbon without trying a pastéus de nata. A creamy, custard tart that will have you addicted during your stay. I made the mistake of waiting until the last day in Portugal to grab my first one. Picking it up from a bakery outside the Santa Justa lift whilst I waited for my Uber. I wish I had got off my plane and headed straight to the nearest bakery to grab one, they tasted that good.
My trip to Lisbon was a packed one as always! So keep an eye on this page as I fill it with activities, historical sites, and some fantastic opportunities to get photos. Whether you’re a foodie, photographer or city breaker, they’ll be something for you here.
