Singapore Airlines (SIA) is revolutionizing the airline industry by providing the most comprehensive and limitless in-flight Wi-Fi access to its esteemed customers. Starting from July 1, this remarkable service will be extended to all KrisFlyer members across all cabin classes, including premium economy and economy class, making SIA the leader in this realm.
This upgraded Wi-Fi offering will be virtually accessible on the entire SIA aircraft fleet and cover almost all of the airline’s global routes. With 136 passenger aircraft in operation, the majority of them will offer free unlimited Wi-Fi, except for seven Boeing 737-800s that lack this feature.
No matter which cabin class they choose, SIA customers will now have the incredible opportunity to stay connected with their loved ones, work online, keep up with the latest news, or indulge in their social media feeds even while soaring at 36,000 feet above the ground.
To access this exceptional service, customers must simply enter their KrisFlyer membership details during the booking process through the Manage Booking online option or at check-in. Non-KrisFlyer members can also sign up for a free membership either online or on board their flight using the SIA digital content portal on their personal mobile devices, allowing them to enjoy the complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi.
Notably, Singapore Airlines suites, first class, and business class customers, as well as PPS Club members, will continue to benefit from unrestricted and complimentary access to in-flight Wi-Fi.
Since February 2023, KrisFlyer members travelling in premium economy and economy class have already been enjoying complimentary three- and two-hour Wi-Fi surf plans, respectively. This latest enhancement is another significant step by SIA to provide an exceptional end-to-end travel experience for its valued customers.
Yeoh Phee Teik, the senior vice president of customer experience at Singapore Airlines, expressed the importance of high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity in today’s hyper-connected world. He emphasized that offering free and unlimited Wi-Fi access is a major achievement in SIA’s ongoing efforts to ensure an extraordinary travel experience. With this remarkable offering, SIA customers will be empowered to remain connected, entertained, and productive even while soaring at 36,000 feet in the sky.
I am delighted to hear about this, one of the things I find most frustrating about air travel is just how expensive wifi is. I like to work on the flight to pass the time, either crafting articles about my recent trip, editing photos or (attempting) making videos. The fact that Singapore Airlines are making this accessible to all classes makes me all the more excited to fly with them on my upcoming trip to Singapore this year. It shows they are really listening to customer feedback and strive to give a 5-star experience, even when you are flying economy.
