Seminyak

Finns Beach Bar sunset in Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia

Nestled on the southwestern coast of Bali, Seminyak is a tropical haven that beckons travellers from around the world. This idyllic destination offers the perfect resort getaway. I found Seminyak to be more of a traditional getaway. With less focus on nature, but more on culinary experiences and relaxation.

Beach Bliss in Seminyak

Seminyak boasts some of Bali’s most stunning beaches, where the golden sands meet the azure waters of the Indian Ocean.

I stayed at the Legian Beach Hotel. Close to the pristine coastline that stretches for miles. Seminyak is a paradise for sun worshippers, surf enthusiasts, and those who simply wish to unwind by the water’s edge.

The iconic Seminyak Beach, with its sweeping views and vibrant sunsets, is a true highlight. As the sun dips below the horizon, the skies come alive with colours that seem straight out of a dream. The beaches spoil you for choice with a selection of bars, so you can enjoy the incredible views with an ice-cold beer or your favourite cocktail. My favourite of which was La Planche, and clearly I wasn’t alone in this. If you didn’t have a reservation, you wouldn’t get a seat. So from the comfort of my bean-bag I watched the sun go down, slice of pizza in one hand and a Bintang beer in the other.

Cultural Charms

The restaurants and bars in Seminyak are on another level. Our own hotel offered a Teppanyaki experience, allowing us to watch our food being cooked in front of us. Even allowing us to get behind the bar and practise our Teppanyaki skills.

Of course the best meal I had was Ku De Ta. A beachfront restaurant that offered the most mouth-watering food you will ever have. With prime steaks for mains and octopus for starters. This restaurant will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime and every reason in the world to return. With live music and DJs after your meal you can sip cocktails into the night. Before retiring to your hotel or taking the party elsewhere.

Luxurious Experiences

Bali is known for its spa experiences. Luckily at Legian Beach Hotel it’s home to one of the best Spas in Seminyak. In fact I don’t think a day went by when I didn’t get some sort of treatment. Determined to try every experience, and it’s all so affordable too. The world-class spas in the area are famous for their rejuvenating treatments, combining ancient Balinese techniques with modern wellness practices.

Vibrant Nightlife

When the sun sets, Seminyak transforms into a lively hub for nightlife. Whether you prefer intimate beachfront bars, trendy nightclubs, or sophisticated cocktail lounges, there’s a spot for every night owl.

Ku De Ta and La Planche are two iconic beachfront venues where you can sip your favourite drink while listening to live music. Of course if you head into town La Favela is a beautiful restaurant that at night becomes the place that everyone wants to be. With different rooms each with their own music styles, beautiful balconies to overlook other revellers, and lush plans and artificial waterfalls that make you feel like you are partying in the jungle.

Of course there’s also the iconic Finns Beach Club. With freshwater pools overlooking the sea, prime cocktails, and live DJ’s. It’s the party place in Seminyak. You won’t ever want to leave, and with waiters delivering you food and drinks to your reserved sunbed, you almost won’t have to.

Seminyak

Seminyak was the best of both worlds for me. Both relaxation and adventure combined for a trip that’s memories will last a lifetime. As always I’ll be writing about all my adventures so keep an eye out for new content as this section gets completed!
